What have i done ?

Last night i all i did was download the microsoft update to watch the 'hdi player'& then went into my computor control panel to change the colours & screen saver image,& now i have no background colour on any site i go on,everything has a white background,even this site,the page is white except for the lettering & t.l. logo & the adverts on the left of the screen.
Any tekkies out there that can help me please.

Do a system restore to point before you did the last update.
