Water dispensers
Hi,
Has anyone seen any offers on water dispensers please, the ones where they are both hot and cold water. Would prefer the ones where the water goes at the bottom of the machine but I don't mind either way. Thanks

I bought one of those water unit machines last week + 2 big bottles of water to go on top, 1 at a time of course! Total cost was 700 TL from Erikli with free delivery of all and, in future, if I give them an empty they will replace with a full one, take the empty one away and leave the full one ... cost for that 10 TL ... Phone in Manavgat ... 0743-1612 or 0743-1622 ...

Depending on usage they will use about 3kWh per day (about 1/5 of normal domestic usage), you can fit a timer to them so that they are not running at night, maybe start an hour before you wake would be good.

Both Beko and Bosch sell these ones as we bought one last year as we could no longer lift the bottled onto the top of the machines! You can do deals with the shops and they'll give you a discount if you ask them. There are quite a few Beko and Bosch suppliers around Manavgat or if you are not in that locale, there are shops in Terra City in Antalya! Good luck.

I know its only pennies 'as such but January in Didim a large bottle of water was 7TL.
And just as a matter of interest the MILLION shop down Ataturk blv was selling the water bottle covers that go over from the top of the bottle, although Janice Manson Close to Goldsands 1 makes both the top and bottom opening type of covers, she can be found on FB if you want her.

Hello again MoorTenerife - I think we met once, do you remember? You had a friend and a small child with you at the time and we did a trip together ... can't recall which one right now as it was years ago!

Anyway, the water unit machine that I bought for my neighbour she does not want but she has kept the 2 big bottles of water. As you know, I paid 700 TL for the machine to include the 2 waters but she has paid me 20 TL for the waters, so if you want the machine, I would let you have it for 550 TL but you would have to arrange transport yourself. I am at Mirage Residence but I go away for a week on Friday morning ... so you could either come by on Wednesday or Thursday this week or after I return from Adrasan. Please let me know as soon as you can because if you do not want it, then I will be returning it to the water company I bought it from only a week ago. Thank you.

Hi, yes I do remember you, it was my daughter and granddaughter with me. I think it was a village tour we were on. We are looking for one where the bottle goes on the bottom, thanks for the offer though. My daughter has one with the bottle on top and it's quite heavy to put on that's why I would prefer one that goes in the bottom. Hope you are keeping well.

OK, not to worry, as I only bought it a week ago I feel sure they will give me a full refund when I return it. GittiGiddiyor is a very good Turkish website which is the same as our Ebay.co.uk but the type of water machine you want - with the bottle at the bottom and not on the top - does not come cheap ... they have 3 on there just now = (1) 898.69 TL https://www.gittigidiyor.com/adres-bilgileri (2) 992.75 TL https://www.gittigidiyor.com/adres-bilgileri (3) 712.49 TL https://www.gittigidiyor.com/adres-bilgileri Let us know once you have made your decision and what you ended up paying in TL. Thank you. x Angela in Side x

I wonder if the bottom bottle type would be fairy awkward getting it in and setting it up, against 'Basically' just dropping the neck of the bottle into the machine, and not forgetting that is when it automatically gets pierced to allow the water to flow.

I bought 2 of the 'bottle in the bottom cabinet' style water dispensers, each with hot, room & cold temp taps. They are generally quite a bit more expensive than the 'bottle on the top' ones - most places we tried were 1,200 - 1,500 TL each. However, we eventually found an offer on line with hepsiburah (not sure the spelling is right but just google). Ours are made by Vestel, gaurentee do for 2 years, work really well (although I drink my hot drinks without cold milk) and cost me just less than 800 TL each.

We just put our hot & cold on 5 minutes before we need it. Originally did this due to safety, as I didn't want to risk my grandson scolding himself with the hot water when we weren't looking. Now we just do it out of habit and also save loads on the electric

When we lived in a rental property which has these we used to switch them off during the day when we were out at work, I never thought of a timer at the time. Now its just a jug of cold water in the fridge.

Mine has a switch on the back to isolate (off) the hot water heater. I never use that function as it is wasteful, and it is cheaper to boil a kettle rather than have a water heater constantly on.

The ones where the water bottle goes in the base of the machine are really easy to set up and far easier than the ones where you have to lift the bottle onto the machine! We've got a bottle holder which we bought from one of the shops that supply the water and it fits over the neck of the bottle and allows you to lift it easier. I just wish we had bought the bottom loader one in the first place! I don't think you will regret buying one!

I just put a small slit in the plastic seal before I lift it on top of the unit.
Mind you one day I had wet hands and dropped it ,well lucky it just bounced lol.

Although most 'as far as I know' on the top mounted type have a pointed spigot to pierce the seal but obviously putting a 'small' slit/hole will help the spigot break through more easily.

I have one of the top-loading water unit machines and there is nothing at all on the top that looks like a pointed spigot OldFogy ... just blue thick plastic covering to seal it ... which I pierce with a sharp knife in an X shape, then put it on top. Yes it is heavy but I can manage it quite easily in 2 go's ... once to rest on the top ... second time to tip it into the unit... x Angela in Side x

Sorry but the only one's I have seen have had a Pointed spigot in the top to pierce the seal. as in this video, although don't know why she took the seal of.

The only other time is on TV when watching people make a mess by spilling water all over the place because of removing the seal first, maybe the older models didn't have the spigot I don't know. Which was obviously done for the comical side of things.

Yes I agree .Have been putting these bottles on for years and never take the plastic seal off ,just as is said cut a small slit or x slit to make it easier to pierce .Also have never seen a indentation in the seal to make it easier to pierce when putting bit on .
