It is a lesson for all that crap happens and so long as it hasn't been a blockage by deliberate acts, you just have to bide your time.
Accidents do happen and Motorways do grind to a halt.
I have seen bands perform, games of football and lots of socialising from the captive audience known as motorists, which is always better than angry, stressed out drivers who basically cannot alter a thing, even if it adversely affects them.

Today we had our first Ikamet interviews in Manavgat. All went well and we got our 1 year residency permits.

We also accepted an offer on our UK flat last week & today the estate confirmed that our purchaser's had passed all their id & money laundering checks & were cash buyers.

We are hoping that this good luck continues

We applied for our Ikamet about a week after arriving in Turkey, rather than waiting until our 90 days were nearly up. Just incase they changed the rules again. (We had already done 2 weeks in April and 2 in June, so made use of 35 days of our 90 days.

With our flat sale, we were hopeful of finding a DFL ( a Down from London, as we call them in Kent). We also knew in reality that we were most likely to sell during the peak holiday season, but were becoming worried about the interest rate rises.
Luckily for us, our buyers were staying at the £2k a week holiday let next to us when they saw our flat go up for sale & had money to spend.
It is in a prime beach front location ( if you want a nose, check out Rightmove with postcode CT10 1QS the property listed with Cooke & Co)

Today, the strange veggie journo daughter informed me that she had applied for a job with ITV based in Cardiff and has a Zoom interview on Wednesday.
I had fingers crossed with a vision of no more debris scattered about the house, the kitchen being clean and tidy and her office not looking like a handgrenade had gone off.
Then, the bad news. The want to employ someone who is passionate and has great knowledge of Wales.
She doesn't know where it is on a map.
