It's that time of year again when we all think " will I get a better exchange rate for sterling in \turkey or do \i change it into Lira in the UK?"

Any news on what's on offer for sterling cash, particulaly in Bitez?

I'm off on the 22nd so any help would be most appreciated.

Hello. I find changing in Turkey is best. Garanti and post office give better rates than foreign exchange booths despite charging commision. Saw exchange rate today is 2.50 lira to pound. Has been as high as 2.20 to pound so looking good for you.

Hmm!!

I would have thought that a "high" rate of 2.20 would be better for the bank, not the customer.:eek:

I think they were referring to the 2.50 being a good rate.

Hello. I referred to 2.50 being a good exchange rate if you want to change £ to lira. Thought that would have been obvious.
Garanti is showing 2.54 today and giving 11.5% interest. Worthwhile topping up account while over there?
