The UK terror threat level is being raised from "substantial" to "severe", Home Secretary Alan Johnson has said.


These are the levels

THREAT LEVEL SYSTEM
Low - attack is unlikely
Moderate - attack is possible, but not likely
Substantial - attack is a strong possibility
Severe - attack is highly likely
Critical - attack is expected imminently

With Republic day in a few days, international goverments must have some proof of an International follow up in Easter? like the July bombings or aborted plane bomb..

On the contrary dear Bob; the perpetrators want the public frightened and on its toes. That way people won't object when democracy is gradually being scrapped and their freedom is waterboarded in the name of security.
