Went for a drink in one of the cheaper chain pubs tonight 2 large glasses of wine £15.
Luckily a large fish & chips to share from our local fish shop is only £6.10, so the total cost of the night out was pretty cheap
Large fish and chips £11.60

A sure fire vote winner then?

Interest rates from BOE now at 0.5% but they reckon it will have to get to 1.5% to make any impact on inflation.
The food banks are also getting the knock on effect from rising food prices as people can't afford as much shopping as before and are not donating enough.

It gets tougher, those planning to depend elsewhere are likely to cut back even more now.

A disgrace on a day one energy firm Shell reports a profit increase from £8billion last year to £12 billion this year .. ( and I am sure the chairman salary and bonus or shares will be in millions )

Instead of having a payback Tory loan on consumers, they should have introduced the Labour proposal of a "windfall tax" with a tax on excessive profits of the energy firms.

We wouldn't have had such a bad problem if it hadn't been due to the inept Tory management , in getting rid of our UK energy storage capacity as part of the Tory Austerity policy ... Where we could have bought and stored capacity when energy prices were low..

The supper markets should help fill them rather than throwing the food out. One lady posted on her Facebook page about the waste and was sacked.
