We will be spending a few days in Istanbul at the end of October including the 29th which is Turkish Independence Day. Does anybody know if places of interest, banks, airports etc are closed or have any restrictions on that date ?
Banks, schools and government buildings will probably be closed. Although there are bound to be exceptions. Airports won't be affected and public transport should run as normal. Most tourist attractions will be open.
There are Military parades in Istanbul and other major cities. In most towns and villages, school children parade and there are bands and fireworks in the evenings.
It will make an interesting added, free, attraction to your visit.
