Turkish Government rocked by security breach
Ankara on alert after spying of security meeting revealed - POLITICS
The ministry statement confirmed the meeting, in which measures to be taken against an attack on the Süleyman Shah Tomb inside Syria were discussed, but said the leaked content was “distorted.”
“It’s only a natural exercise, and part of the duty of relevant institutions to make evaluations to defend a piece of the homeland under terrorist threat,” it read, adding that the meeting confirmed Turkey’s commitment to defend both the tomb and its soldiers deployed at the military outpost.
I've listened to the tape and it seems genuine, there are several people discussing the situation and talking all at once, and commenting on other peoples suggestions. The fact is the government has admitted that the meeting took place, but say the recording is 'distorted'. I don't see how, but let them prove it.
If the tape is genuine it means Turkey was trying to create a reason to start a war with Syria. How do you think Syria will react to this news?
