The Stork's Arrived !

We've just had about 20 storks come into land in the valley. They're the first arrivals for this winter.

Is that normal, we have storks spring and summer but they all fly south for winter, I presume to Africa?
We did have a funny sight on the beach, Iztuzu, the other week, there was a pink flamingo and a white swan on the lake, maybe they were lost or resting?
