Until last week I had a Ford Escort. It was crap. It broke down at least once a month and was never what you would call reliable.
So this week we traded it in and bought a new car. This took some time, and discussion between the wife and I.
And all last week I refused to discuss the replacement of the Escort whilst in the Escort. In case The Escort heard us and got upset.
As soon as we got the new car I bought a Nasar Boncuk, which is a magical protection against the evil eye that almost all cars in Turkey have, and hung it over the rear view mirror in the new car. I never did it in the Escort.
I don’t believe the Escort could hear and resent me and I do not believe the Nazar Bonuk will have any influence on the new car.
Its not a case of safer than sorry. I am not sure why I wanted to do either. I just would not talk in front of a car and have put a superstitious amulet in my car.
So what am I doing?????
