Hi
Can anyone tell me where the nearest supermarket to Turquoise can be found? We will need a few things and are a bit wary of renting a car and driving in Bodrum. Will need a supermarket on a bus route so we dont have to carry shopping to far. Any help would be welcome.

Depends what you want.

There are a few cheap little grocery stores in Bogazici, at the end of the road - just keep going past Turquoise, Flamingo and Lakeside. The Dolmus goes there. Some cracking little fish restaurants there too, right on the shore . Beautiful!

Nice 30 min walk - grab a taxi back.

There are also some small shops and stores in Guvercillik, halfway into Bodrum, just past the Artev offices. You will get most of your basics there. Again, on the bus route.

BUt seriously, hiring a car and driving in Bodrum is no sweat. There is really only one main route and that loops round from the main road, along the marina and back up to the main road. And in fact you don't even have to go into bodrum town, there is a Conforama on the main road by the shell garage. Actually, even if you get the dolmus, you wont have to carry your goodies that far coz the bus stops outside near enough.

Also there is a supermarket at Sunset Cafe, just near your complexes turn right and it is on top of the hill. Just past Flamingo. They sell most things, water, fresh bread,chickens, everything fresh veg, fruit a very good supermarket, everything you would need. also there is cooked food, barbi chickens excellent, have a beer as well sat in the sun and look at the view amazing. Wireless internet cannot beat it.

There is a little supermarket just next to the Sunset cafe 3 minutes walk from Turquoise. Prices are reasonable and fresh bread is delivered everyday. Prices are so good at the Sunset Cafe that we went there several evenings. (Turquoise restaurant was not open when we were out in April but apparently that is very good too). We did have a hire car and managed to return it with no dents (extremely good feat considering the potholes!). Echo Whistler's comments on restaurants in Bogazici. We had the best fish ever there at one of the restaurants. Agree the price home with the Taxi driver before you get in though or you may have a nasty shock when you get there!
