"Light Years Away"
Spa-Francorchamps - BELGIUM Grand Prix 2011
Well, I've missed 3 Grand Prix's; Silverstone GB, German (sounds like that was an exciting race??!) & Hungary so you've been spared any race details:)

So glad to be back & not miss one of the most exciting race circuits: Spa!

Wasn't able to get decent coverage and commentary (Steve Slater) was rubbish in India on Starplus, so didn't bother tuning in after catching a bit of the British grand prix.

Practice 3 is on LIVE now (for those with the RED button) It's wet and so far M.Schumacher has set the fastest time in P1, think that time will stick now, as P1 just ended.

Turkey T.V Coverage
Sunday's race on TRT3 at 15.00?

Looks like Vettel is still leading the field in terms of Championship, with just missing the podium in German Grand prix (I want to see that race so much, my Sky didn't record it:)

Top 5 in Driver's Championship
1 Sebastian Vettel German RBR-Renault 234
2 Mark Webber Australian RBR-Renault 149
3 Lewis Hamilton British McLaren-Mercedes 146
4 Fernando Alonso Spanish Ferrari 145
5 Jenson Button British McLaren-Mercedes 134

P1 fastest =Michael Schumacher. P1 just finished in a rather Wet circuit.

Excellent - Shue 1st - that's just made my day. He's such a nice guy, really appreciates the people who support him unlike most of the other F1 drivers who don't even recognise that there are fans out here.

I think he went out at the right time and set that time at the beginning.

Being the 'rain master' that is known as-he often makes the right judgements and senses the changing weather and goes out at the right time.

The times, however are all over the place this morning as it was raining.

P2 is this afternoon, we'll see what the weather conditions are.

Spa has the strangest weather of any circuit I was in the old pits and the rain was bouncing off the road you could not see the circuit while one of our spotters was at the Stavelot corner in bright sunshine makes tyre choice impossible

Absolutely amazing location, love to go one day..
Yes, I remember your photos from last year McDHibs, the weather, the incline and gradients of some of those bends look spectacular.

What a fantastic race yesterday!!

Pre-Race
The drama started in Qualifying, with Schumacher's wheel coming off leading him to crash into a wall, so he set no quali. time and had to start the race in LAST position P24. As well as well seen footage of Hamilton and Williams’ Pastor Maldonado coming together in Qualifying -they only gave Maldonado a 5 place penalty at start of the race.

Qualifying Result
1 1 Sebastian Vettel RBR-Renault 2:03.029 2:03.317 1:48.298 22
2 3 Lewis Hamilton McLaren-Mercedes 2:03.008 2:02.823 1:48.730 21
3 2 Mark Webber RBR-Renault 2:02.827 2:03.302 1:49.376 23
4 6 Felipe Massa Ferrari 2:05.834 2:04.507 1:50.256 21
5 8 Nico Rosberg Mercedes 2:05.091 2:03.723 1:50.552 23
(Alonso qualified 8th.)
(Button qualified 13th due to misunderstanding)

Race

The start was exciting as Rosberg managed to take the lead from Vettel, but that didn't last long both Ferrari's were in pursuit as well as Hamilton (before he crashed out -as he seems to leave less room after he over takes -think he needs to check his mirrors to see he's clear after a move!).

Button on the other hand moved up the field quite niceley after qualifying in 13th and made it on the podium (Alonso who drove superbly -his overtaking moves are so precise and clinical- just missed by coming in 4th.

Shuhmacher had a great result starting from 24th to finish 5th.

The race master -VETTEL still came in supreme as 1st, holding his blistering tyres together till the end.

Race result
1 1 Sebastian Vettel RBR-Renault 44 1:26:44.893 1 25
2 2 Mark Webber RBR-Renault 44 +3.7 secs 3 18
3 4 Jenson Button McLaren-Mercedes 44 +9.6 secs 13 15
4 5 Fernando Alonso Ferrari 44 +13.0 secs 8 12
5 7 Michael Schumacher Mercedes 44 +47.4 secs 24 10
6 8 Nico Rosberg Mercedes 44 +48.6 secs 5 8

Only 7 more races to go...
