Hello all, I’ve been looking and all the treads for sky tv are a few years old and I was wondering if anyone could help me please?

I did email one company that suggested now tv with a vpn router for live streaming, but I’d like to be able to record and watch my favourite sky programmes whilst living in Turkey. I do have a sky box and subscription in the uk.

I wished I’d asked some of the bars on previous visits how they managed to get it !

But any help would be greatly appreciated

Thank you all

I was always led to believe that you need to install a 2.5 mt satellite dish just for starters.

I get Sky through a local (Fethiye) provider. £200 a year for the whole Sky package + films on demand in HD when available. uses a Mag Box, which I am about to upgrade to give higher definition. Not through satellite, but phone line.

There is/was a box available to connect your UK box to and mirror it and control it wherever, cant recall the name but was internet based.

It's a slingbox used with slingplayer app for casting to tv. It works well if you have decent internet speeds at both ends. Decent upload speeds needed at source end. No vpn needed.

I have a firestick loaded with all the channels I would need, costs me £50 a year, I only bought it as a back up or to take on holiday, look how that turned out !, I try it once a week and it works perfectly, l particularly like the portability of ot, not sure if would need a VPN as I think it will be directed at a or a group of servers

You used to, perhaps not 2.5 mt (I managed quite well with 1.5 mt) but now they use a different satellite which only needs 0.9 mt

Can you get Freesat with that dish?

I don't think so. We are getting Sky from Astra at 19.2 E. I think Freesat is where Sky used to be, at 28.2 E. But I am a long way from being an expert on Satellite dishes! (In fact I'm a long way from being an expert on anything.)

I've got rid of my satellite dishes in Turkey and use the internet to stream tv.

Bravo can be used in several devices as for a small extra charge ,they have developed apps for smart tv,'s etc.
The advantage of a firestick is you can put it in your pocket and take it with you anywhere in the World.
It has been tested in Turkey and works fine.
Anyone interested pm me.

Does Bravo have all the Sky Sports channels? Already have a vpn if needed to run the app in Turkey. Wondering if it might be worth it as last winter I tried Mobdro and RedBox on my Firestick but got tired of buffering or drop out.
