Renting at Pyramids
Hi,

We are thinking about the possibility of renting our apartment on Pyramids, we don't get to Turkey that often and it seems silly it been sat empty for Months at a time. Is this a viable option in peoples' view? Does anyone know of anyone else renting and has it been a success? I know Aymet homes ran a property managment service but not sure if they still do. If not is there another company that people use and would recommend?

Cheers

Hi Yogi
firstly the complex would need to be complete and in full swing I reckon thatll take another 2 years at least.
seconly Akbuk is not yet established as a holiday destination so only appeals to the minority (at the moment).
thirdly the flights are that god damn expensive people may aswell just book out of the brochure.
on a more positive note I think akbuk will definately be the place to be, the town will be improved without doubt over the next ten years and youd know youd have made a great investment £££, 5 years from now and rental should be achieved but your money /profit will come from the overall investment.
this is just my opinion but I bought as a long term investment with a minimum of 10/15 years in mind.

Hi Yogi,

I agree with John that the complex must be completed before rental.

Akbuk is not as busy as Altinkum but is only a thirty minute bus ride away.
Flights can be purchased cheaply but you have to book in advance.

The villas on phase two should all be complete by May 2010. Hopefully by then sales would of picked up to enable phase three.

You could always rent to family and friends for cheep untill completion.

As John says Akbuk will boom in the next five to ten years.

:biggrin1:

Hi,

Thanks to you both, I tend to agree that the rental market in Akbuk is not 'mature' yet. I must admit I am thinking more towards family and friends at the moment and just 'test the water' and see what the response is. Obviously, it will be better when?? the complex is finished one of our bugbears is that the bus service is not up and running as was promised, this has a big impact on us as we have two small children who will not walk the distance down to the centre of Akbuk. It also has an impact on any possible rentals, it rules out anyone with smallish Kids and anyone who is a poor walker.

Johnjo, I've just noticed that you are in C3, I own C1 so I think you are upstairs from me! No wild parties now :5:

Yogi,
We have rented out ours at A5 ( the far end ramped, ostensibly to friends and family) and as long as your honest and up front with folk, you'll be ok. The place has a special appeal as it is and should be conveyed as such. As it develops that should be conveyed accordingly. We felt any rental price has to be balanced against the flight costs, and therefore a realistic price needs to be set one feels, making it worthwhile. Malc
