Mmmm. Mind blowing but what I do not understand is how villa owners (as opposed to apartment owners) are affected. I have been told that villa owners also have to update their tapu if it only refers to "Arsa" (land) and not the land and villa. Further, this requires re-measurement and (surprise, surprise) another fee. Failure to do this may give rise to a fine; presumably when you come to sell it otherwise who is going to check and enforce this.

I would just hold fire now. This is a report in a newspaper, the real outcome won't be for a few weeks. At least they are seeing reason.

What does this mean?
(in plain English and without using any specialised words)

"Title deeds of storey easement right imply the contractor’s right of using the land. Once the habitation certificate, which certifies the conformity of the building to the approved plan, is issued then the title deeds can be changed to condominium ownership."

And,if it does happen-the timeout-you can guarantee in 2 years time, the situation will be exactly the same,as builders will decide they can forget the habitation certificates for 2 years..............and more of them will have vanished into thin air, leaving more buyers with the problems than there are now.

Incredible that 70% of properties don't have a habitation cert.

According to that article, our property taxes will increase five fold as soon as our houses are re-registered. A nice little earner for the councils.

Well, having published that a great deal of the councils budget has gone into building the marina..............guess how they are going to boost their funds, and who they will get it off?

Isn't the rate of property tax set by central government? There's no marina in Guzelcamli.

I read that. It's good news that fines are lifted. Article was quiet brief. Article states they will present a new law to Parliament by 1 July, how long till Parliament enforces that law? I wonder..

Don't hold your breath, we been there before, nearly every summer something to do with property buying is going through the parliament and every time it gets put off because of holidays and even if it gets passed it goes back for revisions, until the next time.......

Well, thats what I thought mushtaq. I know theres quite frequent snippets of news on this popular subject reported in papers like Voices but think it will take a long time coming before the actual 'Breakthrough' comes!

Thanks for posting however.
