Good response, to the arrogant Austrian right wing populist leader ... with his expectation that Turkey again takes in refugees heading to the West. Isn't it enough already, they have already the burden on hosting the world's largest refugee population ?? 4mil and counting....

With the Turkish Iye Parti leaders comments on Sebastian Kurz's were inappropriate remarks on Tuesday, stating: "This tactless Austrian prime minister said that all Afghans should stay in Turkey and he could pay us."

Makes me wonder why asylum seekers want to come to the UK...

Why are so many Brits under the illusion that the UK is the best place on earth?

The All Party Parliamentary Group on British Muslims has defined Islamophobia. The All Party Parliamentary Group is made up of an equal number of members from House of Commons and House of Lords.

”Islamophobia is rooted in racism and is a type of racism that targets expressions of Muslimness or perceived Muslimness.”

Your blanket statement regarding Islam is both Islamophobic and racist. And of course utterly ignorant. And that includes those other examples of Little Britain. Feel better?
What a bitter and rather strange person you are uller.

No doubt I’m strange to the Brexit, Farage, Islamophobia and racist gang. Not bitter at all about not belonging to the England über alles boosters. Look up deflection.

Just a typical day for the boss at work.
Vast majority she sees are foreign, most are asylum seekers and most speak no English. The NHS pays for the interpreting service and the working day gets longer as the translating takes up so much time.
We pay for it.

TBF they don't all head for the UK, the reality is that asylum seekers are being shunned & shunted from all countries across Europe.
What the UK is experiencing is nothing compared to some across Europe.
Its a question for asylum seekers to answer, maybe they prefer the UK to living on the streets or in tents in other European countries.

Because English is the international language perhaps?

Could also be said of many other English speaking countries.

IMO it's all the freebies they get plus many of their mates are in the UK already so no need to assimilate as curry is now the national dish!

Here the UK is held in high regard and GB emblazoned T-shirts, hats & takkies abound but when you ask young folk where they would like to work it is almost always either Poland or Hungary.

The Afghanis are leaving their country in droves and entering Turkey from Iran. They don't want to stay in Iran, so how does that square with seeking asylum in the first safe country?

Do refugees have to stay in the first safe country they reach

CLAIMED

Under the Geneva Convention refugees should seek refuge in the first safe country they come to.

VERDICT

Incorrect. The UN Refugee Convention does not make this requirement of refugees, and UK case law supports this interpretation.

And who puts the cases forward to become law in the UK? The liberal lefty, sandal wearing, guacamole munching dinner party loony left wokes and the lawyers making a fortune out of the state.

That list has a lot of languages on it spoken by people of countries the Brits once colonized. Colonization did not take place to teach the Gujaratis table manners. It’s purpose was to transfer the wealth of the colony to the “mother” country. So let’s say the colonized are coming to claim their own. “We are here because you were there” is a valid statement.
How do you feel about paying reparations?

Those who are entitled to be here as a result of colonization are effectively part of our history and we cannot suddenly delete them and send them off to wherever the empire used to be. They have not come here as asylum seekers but as British passport holders and the vast majority have literally fought for this country and maintained a workforce for the economy. No gripe there at all.
Meanwhile, the subject of this thread are asylum seekers or to give them their proper title seeing as 2/3 are not accepted as Asylum seekers should be 'Some genuine but the majority are scroungers'.
Quite frankly, once the genuine have been weeded from the scroungers, the scroungers should be put back on a dinghy and pushed back in the direction of France as soon as possible.
If they try again they should be exiled to that barren land known as Scotland or be given the option of a firing squad.
I think most would opt for the latter!
Sorry - couldn't resist that one.
