plum tree pruning
I know they say that after the first few years it is not necessary to prune plum trees but mine is now so tall that something has to be done. I can work out which branches I want to cut down but what I do not know is when to do it and so I do not cause any problems what sort of growth do next years plums grow on? All the tall branches do not have plums, it is just the lower, smaller ones that are bearing fruit.
I should also be grateful for advice about pruning loquat trees???

plum tree pruning
l have always pruned my plum tree in the late spring in England.l don't know about here, but since the atmosphere is roughly two months ahead from the British climate,.l would suggest pruning in the end of March beginning of April.Never prune in the winter in England due to the open wound will be exsposed to the frosty cold air, that can result in die back.
