Planning permission for loft conversion
Do you need planning permission to convert loft space into a bedroom & will this have any effect on tapu.

Hi, Most of the houses in our area are flat roofed, so no loftspace to convert. I would think that a loft conversion would be terribly hot in the summer and equally as cold in the winter in Turkey. Moggycat

Yes you most definately do.

My sister enquired about this a year ago and you do need it as it creates another floor to your house.

Planning permission is not normally required. However, permission is required where you extend or alter the roof space and it exceeds specified limits and conditions.

if you are adding extra living space you do need permission as when original permission is given there is a limit to the percentage of the land that can be used as habitable space ie: 25% 30% etc, if planning is given it will probably effect the TAPU as you will be increasing the value of your property. I suggest a visit to the local Belidiye office before you do anything

Yes, you definitely do need planning permission. If you don't have it and someone complains about it, the whole thing can be torn down just like has happened to various add -ons to bars etc. in several seaside towns.
I can also show you a house near me that did an attic conversion and now has a sagging roof and various other damage caused by the Belediyesi JCB crew!
