The drone got some good footage then flew to the dull place known as Lincolnshire (photo 3) before returning to Yorkshire where the sun always shines (photo 4)
It was in my visual line of sight of all the time - honest !

Well my drone arrived later this afternoon, I've charged the batteries and the controller thing but I won't get time to mess with it until possibly next week as I'm off to East Lothian on a marital visit, my luck might be in !! There is some stunning scenery over there especially on the road to North Berwick so it will have to wait, lots to learn yet.

The batteries and controller only slowly lose their charge as they are new. As for learning - it's Yavas Yavas. I told the laddettes that you have a drone now and they said they bought this in Budapest!!
Don't know how they'll get it home?

They were happy enough last night while I was struggling with my Fray Bentos pie.
Landing at LBA in just over 2 hours.
That'll sort em !

Are you sure you were struggling with a pie?
And that it wasn't you and your new drone buddy having some fun?

I think I'm right in saying, Martin's drone is nearer to Norway than mine, so he can be number one suspect.
For mine, there's a balloon festival at York this weekend and that could be an interesting one for the drone.

No pictures from the drone today.
After researching the York Balloon festival and finding the launch time for the multi flights of all the balloons today - 5pm-6pm, I found a great location but the first check of the drone fly app early in the day showed it being too gusty to fly.
That proved to be the case for the balloons even though the drone was safe to fly by 5pm.
Wasted journey but it did prove - drones rule and balloons are softies.

Final day of the York Balloon festival today, but no chance of any aerial footage as it was too gusty for the drone and the balloons, which were due to fly from 4.45pm tonight.
As the drone app for York had been warning that it would not be fit to fly at anytime after 10am today since yesterday evening, we didn't bother to ride out today.
Our decision was justified as the balloons again did not fly, but the organisers neither warned anyone in advance or this evening on their media platform.
They did however charge anyone entering the site of the festival £10 for the privilege of entering, with no refunds as the flights were 'weather permitting'. Rip off Britain is alive and well.

I watched a couple of Youtube tutorials on the drone for novices like me, I will watch them again and again prior to setting it up doing some hovering etc, so as the weather is pissy shite here and I cant see out the windows for drizzle I was looking at some photos from yesteryear, I was triggered by a facebook post re our youth so 10 points for the year and 10 points for the venue, only a manc would get the latter or an out of towner on a cutural visit.
Whilst I may look a complete tw4t I definitely hadn't walked into a wet washing line.
I don't think I've changed that much.

On Saturday, en route to the balloon festival that flew no balloons, in the beast, with the boss driving we all got stopped by North Yorkshire plod while they looked at a broken down car which wasn't even on the road 🤔.
The boss looked at the position of the two plod cars and said her super Mario kart could get through the gap !!
I suggested that it was not a good idea.

The drone did this place recently.
It's called Monk Fryston Hall.
Loads of history and until COVID, a busy hotel.
To me, it's claim to fame is that this is the venue that approaching Christmas during the miner's strike, we escorted a car containing Sir Ian McGregor there and on his arrival he welcomed the occupant of a Jag, a certain Arthur Scargill as they met for a festive pre-Christmas lunch.
We sat waiting for two hours until they both left together, shaking hands and wishing each other a Merry Christmas.
A few weeks later, the strike was over.
That was politics within politics and we were sworn to secrecy and reminded of our signature to the Official Secrets Act.
Monk Fryston Hall has now gone bust. Karma?

Today, to celebrate it being 43 years since I met the old bat, I took the boss to Filey (North Yorks) to treat her to some excellent fish and chips for lunch.
Afterwards on the beach, she completed a very nice sand castle (bucket and spade borrowed) but unfortunately part of the beach was not accessible to her !
Coastline photos by the drone at a low level due to the wind and gusts.
