We have an unglazed pot we bought at our local market. We stick in cubed dana et, goat or chicken, sliced potatoes, onions, other veg. we have lying around, allspice, cinnamon, salt, pepper a good dash of olive oil and just enough water to cover the bottom of the pot. Lid on. Into a 200 degree oven for a couple of hours (non-critical). Good to check it after about 90 mins in case it has too much or too little liquid. I'm sure you could do the same with kofte but I've never tried....
It may well be leaching chemicals at us - we don't use detergent (sometimes soak it overnight) and don't use a decent tea towel on it as the red stuff comes off all over the place!
