Has anybody had any dealings with My Villa Turkey - an agent in Datca, or Kiziltasoglu Construction? We have found land through them and are proposing to have Kiziltasoglu Construction build a villa for us. We have an Embassy approved solicitor dealing with the Contract but for peace of mind, would be interested to hear if anybody else has used either party.

I'm worried to say too much incase its thought I'm promoting them, but know several people who have bought through both companies. Hippy chick and her mother bought from them a good friend is in the process of buying. i almost did but then found a property I preferred, it was just a better location for me. I have only heard good things and we were impressed by the quality of the buildings. I am considering buying land soon and will probably use this company.

Sorry i forgot to add that we used an embassy listed lawyer. It was very expensive and the service unsatisfactory.

Thanks very much for your comments, it helps to reassure us. We have been going back and forth to Turkey for the last 12 years but this is the first time we've been to Datca - thought it was lovely and can't wait to go back. I'm sure we're being over-cautious and a bit paranoid but it helps to talk to people who've dealt with them. Thanks again.

Its a pleasure I hope you will be very pleased with your new villa. There seems to be a growing gaggle of us brits there now and most have bought through your developer. Hippychick and I are gradually learning more about the place and have made plenty of mistakes. If you need any info on where to get stuff do pm me. I'm sure HC would be happy to help also. I'm sure you'll have fun there - we do. Hope we can meet up one day. Where have you bought. HC is up by Migros and I'm by the sea near old Knidos. Another friend is in Eski Datca.

We're buying in Karakoy, not far from the ferry port. We've heard Eski Datca and Knidos are lovely but haven't visited yet. We couldn't get over the number of lovely bays with nobody on them, although as you say, it seems as though the area is becoming more and more popular. Still nothing like Olu Deniz where we've been going for some years now. It would be good to meet up when its finished - hopefully around April time - but I'm sure we'll have plenty more questions before then!!

You will find that the company is good , they will be opening a main office direct from England in Bodrum next year. I know this as I may be working for them next year. If you have any problems use the main office in England.
Good Luck on your adventure. :307bt:

Oh its lovely over there, we did the ferry trip to Bodrum in August. We also love Olu Deniz but it's not windy enough for my windsurfing addict of a husband. I think it will be many years before the area gets too busy, there are loads of protected areas that I'm assured they won't build on. There's also the long transfer from the airport that puts many off. They did cut a few corners off this year and i'm told they have plans to do some more short cuts next year. We manage it in 2 hours now. 13 years ago it was nearly 3 hours and the road was terrifying. Our villa is 1.5km from town near old knidos (Burgaz) which is different from Knidos. They say it predates Knidos and the inhabitants of old Knidos all trooped down to the end of the peninsula for a better trading position. I'm looking forward to going there in less than 2 weeks to hunt round for old pottery it's just washing away into the sea. You can't bring it back to UK but can keep it in your villa. I shall be out there for 2 weeks in April and I think Hippychick and a few other brits will also be there so we'd love to meet you and of course inspect your new villa. It's such an exciting time for you. hope to see you then.
