Sounds very familiar to me. The old advice ; try to be with a male friend
when visiting a cash machine as the assailants are nearby watching. Better
off without a handbag but if you need one, no credit cards inside, only a bit of
cash, keep the rest of the cash safely upon your person (Police Jargon). Think
about a noise alarm, they are a small aerosol can or Mace spray if it is allowed
in Turkey. Get one anyway use it, then throw it, say a passerby did it. It's
war out there.
An elderly lady opened her door and a 15 year old lad stabbed her in the neck, it
happened the other night - he has been caught, probably slapped wrists.
Let us hope the local Constabulary do a Pro-Active operation to catch them.
Do not let it affect your life just be very aware of your surroundings.

Its absolutely bloody disgraceful, it really is. There were a couple of incidents like this last winter also :-(
Reading the voices article, one of the "victims" had money withdrawn from her bank account - so how did they get the pin number? not being cynical or anything but info supplied by boyfriend perhaps?

Thats really shocking news. Back in the early 1990's wshen I worked in Benalmadena in Costa Del Sol, Spain I was forever at the police station with customers who had been robbed or mugged. I hope the police are vigilant and stop this happening as I would hate Turkey to turn into Spain.
