The best way to buy carpets is to go out into the country side and buy direct from a family making them . You then avoid the warehouse and shop ,plus the family will be very grateful they get a pittance for making these gorgeous carpets . Mostly made in Turkey . But also Iran, Iraq & Afghanistan even after being in this business all my life i still have to look at them ..The Scorpion is to keep away snakes in the desert plus many more symbols in the patterns .. The dots in the corners show how many times the man goes to the mosque each day etc . They tell a story .. But i can't put 47 yrs experience here , But i may also be in Turkey March or April . I can then point you in the right Direction .. Wool on cotton . Wool on wool and most Expensive Silk on Silk...................Diane ....
