I just don't understand how this happens in this day and age. I mean Elton John's met the Queen hasn't he? I think its wonderful that the BNP assembly member is confident enough to take his same sex partner to such an event. And who'd have thought the BNP would have an openly gay leader? Marvellous.

Personally, i think anyone that promotes the policies of the BNP should not be given the platform of a Royal garden party to further their racist and distastful views.

We do still (hopefully) live in a democracy and as such we should not have a public bias, even if we do not like the people we are talking about.
There is also the case that often those who are wishing to take advantage of a situation, could just come a cropper.
If the leader of the BNP is, as appears to be the case, a homo, I think that by his appearance with his boyfriend, he might just lose a bit of credibility amongst his white, straight, prejudiced majority of members.

Could be a result.
