Re: F1 -2014 Championship Points

I hope the FIA back Charlie Whiting , Red Bull threatening to pull out shows they are not really committed to F1 , merely addicted to good publicity.

Love Malaysia , really is a good spectacle under lights , hope that Massa really shoves in a really quick one to shake it up.

Yes, Charlie Whiting was good.

I'm not sure where Red Bull are going with this. Mateschitz suggesting quitting F1 then Vettel when asked about the sound of the new F1 1.6 turbo charged engines says "it's ****" .

"When Vettel was asked about the sound of the cars at the Sepang circuit as he prepared for Sunday's Malaysian Grand Prix, he said: "It is ****. I was on the pit wall during the race, and it is quieter than in a bar. I think for the fans it is not good. I think F1 has to be spectacular – and the sound is one of the most important things.

"When I was six years old we went to see the cars live in free practice in Germany, and the one thing I remember was the sound and how loud the cars were, and to feel the cars through the ground as it was vibrating. It is a shame we don't have that any more
."

I agree with Vettel but other F1 drivers have cautioned restraint on their opinions of new engine, like Hamilton in yesterdays Sky F1 driver interviews, as has Jenson.

Well , politics aside I am looking forward to Malaysia this weekend.

Practice 3 -5am tomorrow and qualifying 8.00am GMT (Live)
P.S. Didn't realise sh** was a banned word on here, thats the word Vettel used:)

I will never forget being a Brands for the European GP , Mansell was hammering round in a Turbo Williams , as they came down hanger he hit the gas and the turbo boom shot across the course and thumped you in the chest and ears..... truly spectacular vibration.

Nearest to it for me was seeing a Vulcan Bomber on a full reheat vertical climb , thought i had crapped my pants......

We need the howl of V8's the raging scream of V10's or V6's with large turbo's and twin pop offs.... gurgling ghastlily.

Steve.
