Looking for Turkish music
You might like the sufi musician come Dj Mercan Dede. He plays the Ney (big flute type instrument) probably makes quite good background music. He collaborates with other big name artist on alot of his records, such as the Kurdish signer Aynur Dogan and the troubled singer Yildiz Telbi.
I like his latest cd 800, here’s one of the songs, it features the Turkish rap star Ceza in the background - very subtle. The video is probably based on the old ottoman shadow puppets.

I love Tarkan's music, makes me weak at the knees lol!! Nev those clips you posted were great and I might use them in my next video. The above link is to a clarinet and darbuka drum track by Harem. CD is called Harem 2 and there are several tracks I have used for videos.

You can now watch the video of the concert Mercan Dede held in Paris on 4th of July for the opening ceremony of “Turkish Season in France”. (just click on the pic of the Eiffel Tower)
Like a lot of Sufi performances it starts off slowly and builds up, ending in a Group of Whirling Dervishes doing their thing on stage in front of the Eiffel Tower.
