Kusadasi info needed please

hi all you kusadasians....can someone please tell me how far it is from the harbour to the marina - walking time.

Also, are there any half decent villas for sale in the harbour area?

There are no villas in the harbour area although there are plenty of apartments overlooking the harbour. If you look up towards Ataturks statue the area underneath is Hacifezullah, there are apartments for sale and rent in this area.

The villas are really on the marina side and also there are lots of apartments, spoilt for choice really.

Thanks Peregrine...I am fast at lots of things, but sadly not walking - especially when there are shoe shops to be considered. will take your 10 as a conservative estimate shall I?

The Opus Apartments are quite a bit outside the town centre...they're located behind the bus station. There isn't any entertainment in that area..you'll need to get either a taxi or a dolmus into the Centrum.

How long would it take me to walk there or is that out of the question. Usually walk everywhere. Does Dolmus take long.

Its a long walk if you got short legs. As far as entertainment goes just stand at the rounderbout near the otogar you will get lots of live Entertainment. On a serious note when you arrive Pm me & I will give you the short cut into Town.

Oh no is it a bad area. I have an apt in Altinkum and have stayed in Bodrum for the weekend and thought i would try Kusadasi. I hope its not too bad as i booked it and Hubby wont be pleased.

..if your on your own ..i would,nt advise walking around at night anyway.. a dolmus from there will take you into town in about 10 minutes..

If you are a seasoned traveller you may get by but come as Sand digger beware. The part of Town you are staying in is not a Tourist area. Ok its the cheapes part by far and you will get a great inside veiw into Turkish culture. Nice folk, best eating places & shopping. But if you are a Party animal folk will point you to the Party hot spot BAR SREET...!!!! lively like Ibiza not my sceen.The far end of Town along Aterturk Bvld, the Harbour area is good but more Expensive. Kusadasi is a Town of two halfves. Main things you will allready know Keep all your personal bellonings safe never let your credit card out of your sight thats a different story. Overall Kusadasi very safe but take sensible precautions.

THank You for your info. We are not party animals we like strolling along the marina sitting at bars and people watching. I never carry a handbag as i feel you are a target and hubby always has his money in a zipped pocket. Chose Opus because it was reasonable and had good reviews.

Very good area for socialising If you have probs getting past the marina Security ask for Zeynep mention you are Marys freind. You can get to the Marina on the Dolmus from outside the bus station that says Hastani on the front about 1.50tl.

Dor you mean the harbour where the cruise ships come, or really the Marina ? I have walked there several times, passed the gate just like that, nobody ever asked me something..... it is my preferred area, some nice restaurants there, where you also can sit and have a drink, read a book and you won't be bothered if you are sitting there too long....

Thats what i really enjoy sitting at the cafe having a drink and watching the world go by. Does the Dolmus run until midnight or there abouts? Will be going to Selcuk and have a visit to Marys house.

Yes, Dolmus runs till midnight , it is marked inside the dolmus...

Selcuk is nice, Efes is really worth seeing, I think Kuşadası is a nice place as well, love watchting the boats, and the sound they make when they leave...... ah, I do miss it !

Being a Berth holder lately there has been a few probs with theft & damage so the boat owners have asked for thighter security as well as it being a bonded area . yes there is CCTV but ask to see a video thats becomes difficult .

Been to Ephesus last year but tour didnt go to Marys house so will do that when in Kusadasi. Still a bit apprehensive about area we will be staying in although our apt in Altinkum is about a 15 min walk to the busy area and is in a resedential area.
