Ipod touch e-mail
I have an Ipod touch, and would prefer to take that to Altinkum than my laptop.
I have been trying to set up my e-mail account on it but I'm failing to connect all the time. My nephew reckons that you can only set up googlemail accounts on the Ipod but as I cant find my manual I cant confirm it.
Anyone else using the touch any idea???

I use my Iphone to pick up all my email accounts. I pick up my exchange work email plus four others. It works off 3g or wireless internet. I will be taking mine to Turkey rather than my laptop. Will set it up on Googlemail and get back to you, I don't normally use Googlemail.

Details are here Pete, enable Imap first in your settings.

who are your email accounts with? you cant setup some like hotmail if they are on webmail accounts as far as i know, googlemail allows the the downloading of email to outlook and suchlike so is no prob, if they are webmail to get email on the ipod itouch you will need to use the safari app that it has

I presume you have the wifi setupand connect to the internet via Safari.

I don't have NTL but I have set up 3 different accounts on my Ipod Touch, hopefully the following step by step instuctions will work.

Open the Settings App

Scroll down and select Mail, Contacts, Calendars

Select Add and Account

Select Other

In the Name field enter your name

In the address field enter your email address

In the Password field enter your password

In the Description field enter NTL Email

press Return

Select POP

Under the Incoming Mail Server section

In the Host Name field enter pop3.ntlworld.com

In the User Name field enter your email address

In the Password field enter your password

Under the Outgoing Mail Server section

In the Host Name field enter smtp.ntlworld.com

There should be no need to enter username and password in this section

Click the Save button, hopefully it will connect, if you get Pop authentication errors make sure your password is correct, also in advanced setting make sure the incoming port is 110.

I tried earlier but it seems NTL doesn't work this way. Pete has forwarded his NTL account to Googlemail now.
