Hi Gary and welcome to the forum.

I think Belek is quiet outside of the hotels in the evening, and your suggestion of staying in Side would be better for you as there is plenty going on there in the evenings.

I am sure someone from the Side area will be along to put you right and perhaps help you with recommendations for accommodation.

Hi Gary,

Welcome to the forum.

Having been to Belek several times with my husband...who is the golfer, I can say there is not much that goes on in Belek outside the hotels. The 5* hotels in Belek are really very good, we have stayed at the Gloria Golf Hotels and Letoonia. Out of all the hotels we have stayed at the Gloria Serenity was by far the best.

Side is approx. an hour from Belek, so 2 hours a day travelling time. Depends how long you are going for, if only a week do you want to waste that time travelling. Side is worth a visit, the town itself is very pleasant to walk around and a really good historic site.

Antalya is 30-40mins from Belek. In my opinion a much better option...although much bigger and therefore busier.

Golfing during July, at the hottest time of the year is very demanding, so play as early as you can in the morning...a tip from my husband. Also the courses are quite expensive. If you don't have any transport it might be better to book through an agent who will book tee times and arrange transport for you.

He has used a company in Antalya a couple of times who are very good and also speak english. We visited their office last year and they were both friendly and efficient. I can give you their details if you are interested.

If you have your own transport there is a golf society that you can join in the Belek area that will save you money on tee times. Costs 50tl (last year) per year and my husband had that back after his 1st round.

Hope this helps.

Hi Gary, I have a home in Belek, I'm 40 plus I have children aged 18 & 19. We go over for a month at a time and ive never had nothing to do at night.
There are plenty of places to visit outside the hotels, if the hotels were not first line on the beach and making me divert 500 yds to the beach I probably would't notice either them or the people staying in them in Belek.
Some people go and spend their lives in the hotels without ever setting foot outside, they might as well go Blackpool whilst we have the good weather saves the time travelling to Turkey.
Visit Belek, Kadriye, Serik & the surrounding area, theres plenty to do.

I have a place in Side which is 45 minutes from the airport, Belek is 20/30 minutes from Side. This is by car or taxi which you will need if carrying golf clubs. You would need to add extra time to find the particular golf club as there are 8 or 9 in that area.

First join the Kadriye-Belek Golf Society - if you are going under your own steam, you can get reduced green fees the membership lasts for 12 months and I reckon (according to my husband) once you have golfed in Turkey - Portugal is a no no! Jolly hot in July!

An hour from Belek to Side ???? Only if you are using an electric gold buggy!!!!!

As mentioned using one of those new 'motor cars' you can easily do it in about 20-30 minutes.

Hi Folks,
Just got back from a months holiday in Belek! and ...not once did i go to a hotel for entertainment!
There's plenty of bars and restaurants to go to and you will be welcome in any of them.... both in Belek and Kadriye.... and at the beach bars in the evening..... you never know who you'll meet.... have a look at this advert for Aleyna restaurant in Kadriye.... yours truly entertaining the troops!!!
google....overseasinfo.tv and click on Aleyna video 2nd down...for a laugh!
As for the golf....absolutely fantastic!....found a deal at the Cornelia Faldo course..... go between 6am and 7.15am.... you can play the early bird special for 37.50 euros including the buggy..... great deal...great course!
Or the sueno hotel also have weekly and monthly deals...from 200euro for the week or 300 for a months membership
Please don't think Belek/Kadriye is dead!....it's the all inclusive hotels who are killing the area....with guests not coming out of hotels into the towns....ok! it's not las vegas...but the craic is there if you want to find it!
If you need any info on where to go for some entertainment just ask!
Regards...Stevie
