I would have thought one of the biggest clues about driving and Alzheimer's is when you set off for Liverpool and end up in Hull?

Or indeed, setting off for Liverpool at all!

Jean-Pierre Adams has spent the last 39 years in a coma following an anaesthesia error at Lyon Hospital as part of a routine knee operation he undertook at the age of 34 on March 17, 1982.

After reading about Jean-Pierre Adams, I have the utmost respect for his wife. It is appalling that she had to rely on outside fund raising etc. to care for her husband, as the authorities basically washed their hands.

She deserves recognition for her unstinting care over the 39 years her husband has been totally in her care.

DNA from plague bacteria has been identified in graves from 1338 in Kyrgyzstan, and these pathogens appear to be the ancestors of those that caused the Black Death

This is very interesting. I wonder what determined the excavation of the graves in the first place.

My local polling station is in the local, very old church. To get to the entrance, the route is past the graveyard - now closed as it is full. We noticed that many graves were from a period of about two years in the 1800s. This seems to indicate that something quite deadly happened in this area at this time. The graves are across the age spectrum. We did try to find out, but drew a blank.

However, I noticed most recently that there are several local dignitaries buried there. Next time I am going that way, I will make a note of the actual names and dates in the hope that I can find out what happened.
