HAS ANYONE HEARD about Amnesty to be granted for finished builds

Has anyone heard (what could just be a rumour) that an amnesty is to be granted (apparently by January of 2008) whereby existing builds can be granted habitation certificates??? Apparently, this is as a consequence to the scandal last year with dodgy building permissions being granted and now apparently ALL applications (for Bodrum peninsular) for habitation are only being processed at Mugla and there is only 3 people dealing with the vast numbers of applications. Therefore it is expected that an amnesty will be granted - perhaps a small fine to be paid if building 'over' planned size, and then habitation granted.

If anyone has any info I would be very appreciative.

It would just encourage more builders to continue breaking the rules and getting as you say dodgy building permission. Just because there are loads of illegal builds should
not be a reason to have an amnesty.

It does not seem fair on the legit builders and planners, mind you fairness is not in vogue.

Rumours are what they probably are......Rumours!! unless it has been officially announced by an official organisation in Print, my money is on it being total crap. probably if rumoured to be 2008 it will be 2080.

we are still waiting after near 3 years for our hab cert,rumours are the council wont accept the bung they have been offered by the builders ,and so far the builders wont up it. so if this is true then it needs to be taken away from the local councils.
