A program in California is trying to save unwanted pets from euthanasia by sending them to live with prison inmates.

Founder Zach Skow says it gives the dogs a new life, and may ease prisoners into a new life of their own.

Great scheme, but watching some of those dogs with serious injuries is hard for dog lovers. None of the inmates have gone back to prison, sounds win win.

For some it will be the first time they have had responsibilities, most cat or dog owners put their pets first.

This could be a very good idea, I like it. As Martin says, giving prisoners responsibility could be the making of them.

This has been going on for years in the US of A and definitely gives many prisoners a whole different outlook on life with responsibility. The ones I knew about enjoyed the training too. Very good idea.
