If I give full POA to our buyers in June, does this give them complete control over doing all the legal stuff when it is convenient to them? i.e. we wouldn't need to attend for any reason other than to set up the POA. The answer I want is yes:9:
Normally full power of attorney does not allow you to transfer the property into your own name only to act on behalf of the selling to a third party...this is to theorectically stop abuse of the process.
So giving power of attorney to your buyers for them to complete the sale may not be possible. The notary who draws up the power can advise you properly but make sure you ask the question specifically or everything will grind to a halt the day of the transfer!!
