Fantastic British TV Abroad

My husband and I were at our apartment for 7 weeks from 22nd August. We were looking for a new way of watching British TV. We came across a website which offered all British channels for £6.49 per month. We could not believe what we were being offered. This system is viewed through the computer (we have a lead to our TV which enables us to watch on the big screen). You can continue to move around on the computer whilst watching the programmes on TV. You are not committed to a long term contract but minimum is for one month. We had all BBC and ITV programmes live but what made it great for us is that you can also view all programmes on BBC and ITV iPlayer which is great for programmes which are on late live with the 2 hour time difference. There are also other iPlayers one of which is called SeeSaw where we found lots of our favourite series. We never once had bad connection and viewing was as good as one would enjoy if in UK. The site is Watch UK TV Abroad - ITV Player Abroad - iPlayer Abroad - Watch TV outside UK USA You can get a lead to connect from computer to TV at any computer shop in Turkey. Just check the cable connections at the back of both appliances.

All sounds well and good but we use a 4gb a month Turkcell dongle does anybody know what usage it would take to watch a one hour film, personally I don't think 4gb would last long but I maybe wrong.

Also tried Expat's Shield, kept getting adverts porn sites etc now un stalled.

did you download the expat sheild first ,then click the red sheild till it goes green .works fine for me ..yes briand it does give a lot of pop-ups .but not during a programme

what a nightmare..my pc went on the blink Internet connection went off after i installed
expat shield..ive taken it off and all is back to normal..what did i do wrong?

I streamed the Tour de France every afternoon for about 2 hours it was a gangbanged Eurosprt feed. Including TLF etc every day and listening to the radio used 2.3 gig in 2 weeks.

Tried Expatshield but the best connection speed I got was .5mbps which isn't enough to stream. Went back to my current vpn and was getting 1.7mbps which is about half the speed I get through TTnet.

Will try again sometime today what connection speed do others get that have tried it.

Not necessarily. If you are using a Dongle / wireless, then you can watch iplayer and so on as long as you have an Internet connection and can get past the IP detector (i.e. convince the sites you are viewing that you are in the UK).

I use a similar system as Neil supplies,but tried 'expatshield' last night & had a few issues.Firstly the constant popups,even with ie adblocker installed,then i found it slowed my lappy up & most times i had to double click to go back one page.
So i uninstalled ...& went to bed.Today i reinstalled ,did a speedtest & was impressed at 4.5 mbs, but on trying to watch deal or no deal on c4 on demand [not for me you understand,Ceyn likes it !!!!] it let me watch the ads,but not the programme,same on c5 when i wanted to watch Eddie Stobart.So now i have uninstalled it again & run my spybot & disc cleaner just to make sure it didn't leave anything behind....& it had,it's a 'dirty' site...beware!!!!!!
You can't cheap skate these things,free sites can infect your computor,pay £3.95 to £ 5.00 a month MAX. & you will get a better & safer service.

These are 2 good sites,but understand that at high usage times,ie when there is footy on etc,the signal will drop.Also check your speed from TTNET,this is often slow[ try www.speedtest.net] before you open your VPN.
Finally keep your computor clean,use spybot,once a month & just before you start streaming go to your toolbar & under tools click 'clear recent browsing history'.
If all this fails.........................watch BBC ENTERTAINMENT !!!!!!!!!!!!
