I know this will sound a bit off-the-wall, but it must surely be coincidence that in the light of a Brexit crisis for Mrs May, we get another security alert to galvanise the country behind the government. I have not heard that anyone has claimed responsibility for the 4 packets with low-level incendiary devices with Irish stamps on the packets (just in case the message needed underlining). I am sure to be wrong!

Sounds like another 'drone' issue to me. Similar tactics used around the world when a leader is facing internal strife.

Yes, drones was a good example. The first I ever considered to be a hoax was Blair putting tanks on the lawn at Heathrow in advance of one of his dodgy votes for war; as soon as the vote was passed, the tanks went home and nothing more was said about that particular "threat".

Too early to point the finger IMO. The fact that there are remains from some of these packages gives security forces something to go on.
The Irish Taoiseach is being finger printed whilst we speak :)

Think you're on to something here as it seems very 'camp terrorism!"

Not enough to hurt anyone but certainly makes real stains on your curtains and carpet!!!

Yes word on the street is you are probably talking a couple of head cases not connected to even any of the small factions

In Belfast police are said to be “ sceptical “ - police speak for its not organised types

Seems the Republican "Real IRA" have taken responsibility for the devices using a recognised code known to authorities to verify the authenticity.. :hmm:

The sheer fact that these people have a code, tells us what :hmm:? They've never really gone away.

Camden I was in the hall on not one but two occasions when JC came to West Belfast to meet our community, our political representatives and others

On both occasions he did not miss and hit the wall stating whilst he supported Republican objectives he could not and would not support indiscriminate violence

As well as about 6 SF senior representatives there were others there who were directly addressed in his comments

On the second visit a day later in Express a report stated he led a cheer leading meeting for Provos!!!!

I dont understand the relevance of the last point. What's Clinton's invitation to Adams got to do with JC?

I wonder who was there when Maria Gatland joined the Selfservatives.

If you sincerely believe it's wrong for your govt to be propped up by terrorist types its currently the Tories you need to castigate

The facts are that from Tony Benn to JC the British Labour party were upfront in making contacts requests and demands from the Republican community consistent in their belief that violence was wrong

The Tories on the other hand castigated them for it stating categorically it was totally unacceptable to even have any contact with them

However for YEARS whilst the Tories were saying this publicly and slamming Labour for communicating- the Tory govt was in direct and ongoing contact with both SF and unlike Labour- the IRA themselves!!!

Fast forward to today and the same nauseating hypocrisy is self evident when the Tories not only have no problem with parties related to paramilitaries but sit in govt propped up by them!
