Datca Visit Mid Sept.
We fly out to our place on the Bodrum peninsular on Tue 7th for 6 weeks
but intend, later in the month to get the ferry over to Datca for a few days.
Could anyone recommend a small hotel or pension within walking distance of Datca, preferably family run with a big welcome and good menu.

Hi Sunseeker, We can thoroughly recommend The Marphe Hotel, though it's about 30 minutes walk to the harbour, a taxi will take about 4 minutes costing between 10 to 14 TL depending on the time of day. This is a bias recommendation as we have a house on the hotel site, it's a beautiful place! Check it out on their website hotelmarphe.com, Regards M&J

The Fora Hotel which is owned by the new mayor and is situated right in the centre of Datca
overlooking one of the bays. It is very clean and the staff are very helpful, managers's name is Tuncay, he can speak a little English. We have had lunch there on several occasions, and it is very nice. It is literally round the corner from the Pamukale bus station.
Hope this will be of help to you.

When we have too many visitors we put them in the Mare Hotel, right by the beach and with a pool. It is also a short walk (about 5-10 mins) to the town and harbour so no taxis needed. Another one we think is in a good position is the Fuda Hotel, it has no pool but is right on a beach. A friend has stayed there and liked it.

The Uslu apartments are reasonably priced, and on a fabulous seafront location -quiet but a short walk into the main street and harbour. The rooms are a bit dated, but clean.

Would recommend eating out in town, I think hotels will be pretty quiet by the time you get here!
