According to Dr Fahrettin Koca - Minister of Health of the Republic of Turkey

Translation from his twitter account:
Our provinces were divided into 4 categories according to risk assessment criteria. Categorized as low risk (blue), medium risk (yellow), high risk (orange) and very high risk (red). Accordingly, normalization steps will be applied. We will normalize cautiously and gradually.

35 Chips. As regards to any left over vaccines. Any surplus will be sent free of charge to third world countries. That's what the U.K. have promised so I expect the E.U. will do the same.

I expect certain groups to kick up Hell over compulsory vaccine passports.........until they want to travel abroad themselves.
It will be the 'human rights' brigade and the conspiracy theorists all combined.
I don't see the problem. In fact it should make our return to something like normal an easier transition.
For those of us who have been vaccinated, it is proof, and if that can get us back into the things we enjoyed before then so be it, and if those who object want to live their way, again so be it, but for the sake of a small card confirming vaccination and starting to open up the benefits at a later date, they cannot complain later when it's a case of 'no card, no job, no entry to social events, pubs etc.
It's informed choice.

By the time the EU have finished their vaccinations, there will probably be no surplus to talk of. They might be finished after the third world countries and might have to cadge their surplus instead?

I read yesterday that a German Doctor has called for Ms Merkel to roll her sleeve up on TV and have the AstraZeneca jab.
If the “supposed” vaccine had an above age limit use of no more than 60 year olds, how would those in their late 50s feel?
Macron and Merkel have had a “Ratner moment”.

A Few years ago there was leper colony in both Greece and Turkey I am sure they will be aspiring entrepreneurs out there that will open pubs, hotels and restaurants for anyone that doesn't want to take the vaccine

I don't remember the cholera outbreak in Italy but it appears it was handled well in those days through a vaccine, unlike now with Covid. This day and age the internet must take some responsibility for the skepticism on vaccines IMO.

I thought Italy was doing not so bad

Italy to start vaccinating over-55s and key workers this month under updated plan.

Italy will start offering Covid-19 jabs to teachers, police officers, prison staff and everyone over 55 as a third vaccine arrives in Italy this month.

China’s Sinovac vaccine efficacy 83.5 percent: Turkish researchers

Full Story

Extract:
The COVID-19 vaccine developed by China’s Sinovac Biotech has an efficacy of 83.5 percent based on the final results of Phase III trials, Turkish researchers said on March 3, a downward revision from a preliminary finding of 91.25 percent.

The final efficacy rate was based on 41 infections, 32 of which had received a placebo, said Murat Akova, head of the Phase III trials conducted in Turkey.

The rate is based on participants who presented at least one symptom of COVID-19 along with a positive PCR test at least 14 days after the second dose of the vaccine, Akova said.

He added that the vaccine prevented hospitalization and severe illness in 100 percent of cases, saying the six people who were hospitalized were all in the placebo group.

Detectives have arrested three men after boxloads of lateral flow tests, which were destined for schools across the country, were stolen from a lorry in Harlow.

@DetChSuptHooper said he was "thrilled" the tests were recovered and encouraged the people of Essex to get tested.

“Italy not doing so bad”, compared to who? They’ve vaccinated approximately 5 million people.

If it had been a race, which it isn't as running on different timescales the Italians in the same time we had done just over 3 mil people vaccinated in 5 weeks , they had vaccinated in the same time 5 weeks just over 2.5 mil that's as I said "not bad" don't you think so ??? .... and we didn't have to contend with big Pharma not meeting its contractual obligations on vaccines as they did ,or had, without taking anything away from our own Health Service hard work , the Italians Service and their fatigued staff have just been recovering, from Europe's worst devastating early Covid burden on a Health Service ....

It’s a race, it’s a race to vaccinate as many people as possible in the quickest amount of time.
The fact that Italy started after us, is down to who, surely not the UKs fault.....

A race against the VIRUS to vaccinate our citizens ...... not against Countries and people's in Vaccine Nationalism.

Who suggested UK's fault ??? again attaching your own narrative to others posts....

UK had to start earlier as we were in more urgent need, due to Govt Pandemic mistakes leading us having to be, the first in asking for emergency use authorization on the vaccine ....due to our rising infection rate compared to most and unfortunately the largest death rate in Europe ...

Nationalism has nothing to do with it, you have the vaccine, you get it out there.
We had the vaccine and we got it out there, the EU never. Your attitude is, we took the risk, which is rubbish & has now been proven that the UK did the right thing.
Italy had the same start date as the UK, if they chose to go our way......they didn’t, reason being?

Seems some are not going to get caught out a second time.

Facts? UK over 20 million people vaccinated, Italy 5 million. Those are the type of facts that the Continent of Europe is looking at.

Are you now speaking for the people of Continental Europe ? do they know they have a Brexiteer anti eu sceptic representative speaking for them?

Unfortunately this sole worthwhile success, the vaccination roll out , that you and your own Govt of choice are now it seems basking in, a success which isn't even solely theirs, but in part the work of the overworked Health Service personnel , military and volunteers.

With this success you want to beat down on the EU with some petty comparison on their actions, even though on different timelines, circumstances and vaccination start.

Unfortunately this Govt sole success to speak on, will neither soothe the hurt of the people that have suffered from the Govt missteps nor will it unfortunately bring back loved ones to families of those who have passed, due to this same Govt's mishandling of the Pandemic ...

EU has made it's mistakes but at least their people have heard some apologies from the top eg von der Leyen .... something we Brits have never heard from our Leaders for their mistakes and mishandling ... from the likes of Boris , Hancock , Gavin Williamson etc

Camden,
The vote was cast, the voters had their say and rightly or wrongly depending on your opinion, Brexit got the democratic approval.
Now, after all the wrangling, the UK is no longer part of the EU in principle, even if it hasn't completely broken away.
I'm sure there will be further wrangles and hassle along the way but the result isn't going to be reversed, there won't be another referendum and you might as well accept it.
Anyway, why stress over an experiment that will probably have imploded within 5 years or so?
BTW - For all the balls ups during the pandemic, the early procurement of the vaccines, their distribution and the actual numbers vaccinated have gone very well and much much better than the EU countries.
Simple facts.
