Children in the SE region find celebrating the holiday difficult

That is so so sad , Why can't they see if a child becomes a teacher the family won't be so poor , Such a waste .............Diane

Probably because it costs so much to put them through school/university. And yes, whereas long term it would potentially be a greater income, many families live hand to mouth and would probably see it more terms of it being a lost pair of hands to help at home, on the land, or by bringing in a wage.

Whenever we go out to the SE we seem to take suitcases full of bits for kids picked up in the pound shops here - balloons, pens, etc, which go down so well.
