I always book directly with the relevant Airline
Normally it worth doing a search with skyscanner if you flight date is flexible do a search for the whole month as some days are cheaper than other days

If you are looking to save £20 ensure that the reseller is selling like for like ie luggage included, as it isn't always even on schedules, Turkish themselves used to allow different amounts of luggage depending on the class of economy ticket you bought, personally I would take the Qatar flight with the short stop at Doha as it saves £100, far better aircraft but Qatar are not for everyone

I have a partner who will fly from bangkok in future so ill use skyscanner as ive done for last 15 years and neber any other site beats them...
I use agoda only for hotels but sometimes they can be beat by thai sites only...

What you said is 100% true, the cheap ticketing websites do something funky with the luggage allowances, such as only allowing 15KG for a checked baggage...

Skyscanner do hotels as well as flights, Trivago are pretty good for hotel price comparisons.

Its worth checking the t and c of these booking agents
Example as a result of covid some airlines are now offering date changes flight changes at no additional cost however you may find the booking agent does require a payment for date and flight changes where booking directly with the airline doesn't
Refund is another issue book direct with the airline , the airline will refunded you directly, book with an agent and for airline refunds the agent and there are agents that have in their terms that they take a % fee for any refunds
