Amazinlg my fellow Polish co workers also paradoxically lament the Federalisation of the EEC. Do, whilst working under the freedom of movement treaty, bitterly resent that major British companies are buying up their agri business. Any decent property or land that comes onto the open market is snapped up by foreign EEC interests. They get jobs. we get the property.

No one says " i refused a ******* ( insert country of choice ) quote cos he is foreign, just too happy to get a job done cheap.

Likewise, people are very happy to consume EEC fruit and veg produced on the cheap.

It is a broader argument than just " Little England ".

And then there is the Turkish question, EEC ??? anyone.

Laugh, it's too late.

Steve.

If the end is nigh, it's been a long time coming.
I wasn't old enough to vote in the one and only referendum regarding what was then the EEC as proposed by Ted Heath, so my conscience is clear.
Since then we have just slid into the EU, losing our powers and our say along the way.
We are now just a principality of the state of Europe and the power brokers appear to be France and Germany, certainly not us.
As for the Irish taking two goes to make a decision. You couldn't make it up !
There is talk that this treaty may be advantageous to Turkey for EU accession. Do the Turks really want it?

Considering it was Blair and Brown who depreived us of the promised referendum on the Lisbon treaty and made the whole thing come into force - they have alot to answer for. It is all too typical of this government, when you are unlikely to get your own way, ignore the people and do a U turn. I am so fed up with this limp, useless government. The sooner Blair is taken to court for war crimes and Brown is ousted for being bloody useless - the better!!!

But surely up to only 2 weeks ago Cameron was still giving his "cast iron" guarantee that the Tories would also ensure a referendum!

unfortunately it doesnt seem thats the way many will see it including many in his own party. Proves the point really that theres no difference between partiies when it comes to spin and broken promises

What is the point? We were locked into this when the government under that nice Mr Blair broke its promise and passed the necessary regulations without a referendum. Where were our brave MPs then?

Any referendum immediately after the election would be little more than a very expensive opinion poll.

Wait until Brussels imposes new taxes on us or decides to bring in conscription for a European army and then they might realise what Brown has signed away.

Too late for us now. The deal has been done and we have been sold out on a blatent lie by McBlair and McBrown, that we would have a referendum, providing of course that we went in the right direction.
After all, we can't be having the people deciding against policies which are preferred by politicians can we ?
I read only last week that our unelected and totally useless prime minister had paid a 'surprise visit' to Wakefield for something or other a few days before.
I can understand why this man makes unannounced visits, Had I known he was coming I would have loved to have joined many others who would no doubt have liked to have expressed their views also.
Worth getting the shotgun out of the locker !

I vote for UKIP and I dont care who knows it, they are the only party that will pull us out of the EU black hole.
