Brexit going forward
I am staggered you even have to ask this question.

The Scots had a "once in a lifetime referendum" on the remaining part of the UK. They voted to remain under threat from the English government that leaving the UK would result in them being thrown out of the EU

So having had their "once in a life time vote" they are now seeking a second referendum a few years later on the basis they were lied to and wish to be a part of the EU which they voted for by a resounding majority but were denied by English people that they are sic and tired of overruling how they live their lives.

There is a very real possibility of a second referendum in Scotland on this issue

SO in what universe do you not see this happening with regard to Brexit?
BUT the SNP have always been for independence, they're not calling for a referendum to join the EU. Their referendum is for independence.

You've completely dodged the question.
What Party of any substance in Westminster is going to call for a referendum to rejoin, then gain the votes in Parliament to put it to the public? We are only talking Labour or Conservatives.

Enduring the hellish reality of Brexit is worth it in order to reach the sunlit uplands of Brexit, government ministers have insisted today...

I didn't dodge any question? You alluded to the point we couldn't have another referendum in the short term or even the long term. I am merely pointing out this is not true. I also pointed out that the English parliament threatened Scotland at the last referendum with being thrown out of the EU if they were not part of the UK> A vote winning argument which is now very embarasing.

And Labour and the conservatives are only saying no today? Next week / month / year could be a totally different story. As Brexit starts to reely hurt people there could easily be a party who could see a third referendum as a vote winner.

But as I have said many many times, I don't think they will, they will try and alleviate the suffering by ever closer union with the EU without actually rejoining.

So as again stated many many times, compliance with EU rules and regulations but no seat at the table that decides them

Brexit has severely diminished our role in Europe and as a gateway to EU business for foreign investment.

The damage caused to GB by Brexit is considerable, but it will have to get a lot worse before an actual rejoin vote is on the table.

Becoming a slave to the EU may slow the blood loss, but ultimately, the function of the UK as a DeFacto member with no power will start to grate on people. Sure the UK will do more high profile arguing with them and try to pretend it's not a powerless realignment, but the charade will not last forever.

Perhaps we will rejoin a reformed system of the EU? EU reform is deffo a good idea and always has been. And again as I argued many many times, we would have achieved far greater reform from INSIDE the EU than we can from the outside.

Brexit supporters are delusional. I smile when I see them parading the cross of St George the patron saint of Britian in a show of defiance

They probably don't realize that St Geroge was Greek :ROFLMAO:

In the Greek tradition, George was born to Greek Christian parents, in Cappadocia

After all, as well as England, St George is also the patron saint of Portugal, Venice, Beirut, Malta, Ethiopia, Georgia, the Palestinian terrorities, Serbia and Lithuania.
The patron saints of England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland are celebrated each year and the four patron saints each have a different date designated for them
St Patrick, St Andrew and St David

I AM not aware of ST George the patron saint of Britian unless the Scots,Welsh and Northern Irish have given up on their saints and decided to adopt St George

What tosh......you’ve clearly stated on here several times that you don’t agree with referendums. Now it’s a case of “there is a way”.
You’ve give the reasons why IYO there should be one but no answer as how we reach a referendum stage ie which Party is going to put that forward to the electorate?

I’m not really bothered what St George was.

You should be because St George epitomizes the ignorance of Brexit voters to our true heritage

Yes, I am 100% against Referendums. Reasons why explained Ad nauseam

A proper government would simply announce Brexit is a disaster and that we are rejoining the EU in the countries best interests.

THAT is the purpose of governance. THAT is the system of Parliamentary democracy in action.

No referendums, just stand for election on a specific platform of rejoining and if you win, get on with it.

BUT that takes balls. Getting elected on the promise of another referendum is the cowardly way out that the likes of Cameron took

Shithole though, I've been to Sheffield and Barnsley. Lots of flash cars, all stolen from the High Peak and South Manchester
All in the socialist republic and anti nuclear republic.
We tend to use them from South Yorkshire for menial tasks such as street cleaning.

An African immigrant plant introduced into the UK by the Romans is the emblem of Yorkshire, How fitting ;)

At least the Thistle is actually Scottish and the Leek was most likely a home grown veg
We are a multicultural county steeped in a rich history combining the arts, stunning geography and great intellect.
Then, there's the numpties over to the West side of the Pennines!!
