lf it is outside,did you take in consideration of the high cost of maintaining the green.the grass needs to be cumberland type grass with fiberous roots for the bowls to run smoothly.The grass here has to be a wide blade for maximum survival to stop it from drying out.This type of grass wouldn't be suitable for bowls.
The summer months means you have to constantly water the area.The water bill will be high,taking most of your profits

You can certainly count me in - and I should imagine Peter McIntosh (pot hunter! (lol)) would also be most interested in demonstrating his proven skills in beating fallen `has beens` like me.
The artificial surface suggested by KKOB is suitable for all weather/year use and can be alternatively used daily, or for floodlit evening friendly matches or tournaments; very popular activity in Spain and attracts quite a social following. I would imagine the commercial spin-offs could be quite lucrative, generated by the supply, demand and purchase of sports equipment combined with the necessary catering, refreshments and social requirements of the bowlers.

My father has included a Crown Green Bowling facility (outdoors) for Phase 3 of is complex. I thought it was a daft idea but he said he has had people who live in Altinkum and have found this out go up to the site office and ask if they could have "membership" or "pay to play". Unfortunately he had to tell them no as the home owners on the complex would not be pleased which is completely understandable. So it seems there is some sort of demand but it really depends on how much.

Whether your ignorant of this wonderful pastime,or whether your just being obnoxious,baffles me with this attitude of your's.
Young and old participate in this sport which l class as progress,because the generations are integrating together as one to understand one another in one's life.
How do you define progress.Up to date violent detailed images of computer games that warps the younger generations mind and also starve them of outdoor activity which deteriorates the mind and body is not progress.
What do you call progress[l am curious to know].l call this a backward step to what progress should be all about,and that is to integrate with the community.Bowls does that and that is far better progress then these dam computer games that distorts the young minds.

why do some of you have to get so offended and hurt by someone els's opinion? just accept it and dont make assumptions on other peopel by it. i think it looks rather dreary in my opinion.
when i said progressive i meant looks like the game just goes on and on and on and on..... dont think too deep!
why are you talking about computer games? who mentioned computer games? why mention computer games? i dont even have a games consol as i dont really like that!
i prefer to go to dinners with friends, jogging with some friends, and just socialising etc.... maybe go to the cinema... again! dont judge! take your own advice..

Hey Zuberdust, think again, in the village where I live there is a woman of 18 playing Crown Green Bowls, and she is Lancashire Champion!!! I am a few decades older and am about to join the team, but all age groups are joining, it is a perception that it's a game for old fogies (as you've called us of a certain age before), it is a great way to socialise, and have a few bevvies, especially if you are lucky enough to be young at heart and semi retired like me, lol

wow well thats good that a young woman is playing it and glad a lot of people find enjoyment in it, but am i to be forced to like it? ok this sport seems great (lieing) i would love to play it... (lieing again)... but why not to keep peace?
like i said i am really happy that some people enjoy it a lot, but its not for everybody, and if someone states that they dont like it or find it boring, there is no need to call them being rude or causing friction.
same as not everyone likes cricket, polo, or whatver

I haven't bowled but have played boules lots of times in France, it's great fun. There are quite a few bowling greens in our area and from what I've seen there are people of all ages taking part and going by the sounds they are all having fun. People enjoying themselves in the fresh air and getting some exercise at the same time, what’s wrong with that?
