Booking a complete holiday but ditching the hotel??

Hi, i know this has been discussed before but anyone tried it lately??

I'm trying to get my mother a flight on specific dates so she doesn't have to fly on her own. As it's the last flight before school returns in september, thomas cook are looking £495 for flight only from belfast to bodrum. Ive found a complete apartment and flight we want for £339. If we ditch the apartment there was chat they can cancel the return flight.
Anyone tried this cunning plan lately, as we don't want to get caught out.

My daughter and friend did this last year from Glasgow to Bodrum with no problems. The only advice from travela agent was to let the rep in Bodrum know know that you would not be using apartment/hotel and transfer. Worked a treat and they saved £100.00 each

We've done this many times in the past, all you need to do is get back to the hotel a couple of hours before the transfer bus arrives and go into your room, simples.

Myself and daughter have done this a few times although it was to Dalaman Airport.

All we have done is find the rep, tell her we wouldn't be needing the transfer and accommodation but would be on the return flight.

Never had any problems
