The same is now happening in Datca. This week there are people sleeping in their cars and using the country as a vast open air lavatory. Why do they come when they have nowhere to stay. Disgusting.

NIMBY, eh? The less affluent do not deserve fresh air and the seaside. And surely the Turks can crap where they want. It’s their country. If the foreigners don’t like it, they can go back where they came from.

They can't actually, there are laws against it.

How are they enforced? Do they give out tickets, sort of like “parking“ tickets? Sharia law needs two reliable witnesses to corroborate the misdeed. Or is ”crapping in the countryside” not covered by Sharia? The Dyanet is needed here.

What has Sharia got to do with it?

Oh yawn there you go again. Judgmental madame superior as ever.

Everyone deserves fresh air and clean surroundings but if they sh1t and p1ss in the open and leave trash lying instead of putting it in the bin like a reasonable human being then where's the fresh air for anyone else, foreign or Turkish?
Are you saying it's acceptable to defecate and leave litter everywhere?

Get over yourself.

Having seen a few Turkish loos in my time, i can see why some may be reluctant to use them, it's not the type, rather the condition. 🥴

What an attitude! bringing sharia law into a simple keep the countryside clean issue. It should be common sense.

In the early days of holidaying in Turkey a "stomach problem" was absolutely de rigueur it was quickly cured by a visit to a chemist but many a time I've left a bar or restaurant toilet shamefaced after an explosive visit

Turkey's law remains secular, who needs the Diyanet? Perhaps the Taliban could help out here, they would know how to stop anyone fouling in public.
Here's a helpful contact point in your own country.
