Anyway - just wanted to let you know that the house will be empty and the key will be left under the usual rock in the garden.

I think G & D, many Turks would be offended by a red cross, due to the connotations implied by it's association with the Crusaders. Although Saladin eventually geve em a good kicking, some Muslim countries do have an aversion to the red cross.

So as not to offend our gracious hosts and give them an equal chance of burgling chez nous, or mon repos so to speak, would it not be better to paint in fluorescent green the outline of a key on the rock. This to me would avoid the possibility of offending a putative burglars sensibilities, regardless of their nationality or religious conviction.
