I'm looking for someone to fit a new consumer unit and electrically bond a bathroom so I posted a job onto the mybuilder.com website where people bid for the job. It went on about 30 mins ago and I have one bid so far. Now I don't about you and I know builders might not have the best dialogue but this reply doesn't float my boat. I don't know why but I like reasonable English and certainly won't entertain text talk by someone looking for a job.

I would'nt trust them with my worst enemy's house. He uses text speak, can't spell, and the bulleted list is obviously a cut & paste job from a website.

go onto the niceic website you will find many local contractors,
if you are having your consumer unit replaced, it must be done to the 17th edition wiring regulations, py a part p qualified electtrician/person
under the 17th edition their is no requirement for supplementry bonding to a bathroom, only the incoming water and gas needs bonding

Martyn if you would like a number for the electrician who does all the sparky
work on my kitchens and this a lot of the time includes changing thr consumer unit
so as to comply with current regs. He is niciec registerd and is very competetive
on price. Just up the road in Northampton.

As you know, in the UK all electrical work needs to be done by, or checked on completion by a qualified electrician. Civil Engineering qualifications dont count

This is the first time i have used it. CT posted it a while ago and I thought i would give it a try. It looks pretty good as you can give them ratings after your job is finished so it is a bit like Ebay as long as you are careful. I recently used a similar sort of site for transporting vehicles. I bought a Land Rover on Ebay near Edinburgh then posted it on a site where they bid for the job. I read all their ratings and feedback and picked someone to do the job. They weren't the cheapest but had excellent feedback so I went for them. Job got done and I was happy with the way it was transported.

Btw I got another electrician from that site and they are doing the job on Monday
