Airport Security The Israeli Way
While North America's airports groan under the weight of another sea-change in security protocols, one word keeps popping out of the mouths of experts: Israelification.

That is, how can we make our airports more like Israel's, which deal with far greater terror threats with far less inconvenience.

Interesting read and remarkably simple procedures attainable and surely cheaper than this expensive intrusive xray machine.

Why do I not believe this guy....

Mr Brown said the UK had one of the "toughest borders in the world"

We are a F****** island that must be easier to control than most other countries! If you want to control the borders that is!

Good idea and seems to work ok

'And then there's intelligence in Israel'

Seems to be sadly lacking with a lot of governments.

So Ben Gurion handles about half of the traffic at Stanstead, let alone Gatwick and Heathrow.

Ben Gurion airport is mainly used by Israelis, very few others would need to or want to travel through it, so I think their job is easier, then say Heathrow, LAX or any other major 'real' HUB where the a vast mix of nationalities pass through each day.
