20 Ships to Head for Clash in Gaza
Here's a chance for a few members here to put their money where their mouths are. Sign up for one of these boats!

I think I'll give it a miss - sounds dangerous

'(IsraelNN.com) The Turkish IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation announced that a fleet of 20 ships would be sent to break Israel’s embargo on Hamas-run Gaza two months from now. Five of the ships will be under the auspices of IHH; the support of charitable businessmen in Turkey is being sought for funding to purchase them.'

Anyone trying to break the illegal and inhumane blockade on Gaza is my heroe. I would be happy to join up, but think I'm getting a little old for that now. :hmm:

A doctor from Galway who travels with our group has been over in excess of 50 times

he is a REAL hero to me.

He has been beaten and held many times by the thugs of the occupying army but he never thinks twice about returning. He specialises in pediatric medicine and has personally seen scores of babies die needlessly for want of basic drugs which are routinely prevented from been allowed in by the nazi zionists

Saoirse,
I applaud those who have the courage to speak the truth and the reality. Shame most Israelies cannot see what they are turning into. At least you wil not be gagged here, unlike the mainstream media wherein, a ready made army would have started character assasination on you first, then changed the issue into a Hamas and Palestinian problem and then blamed everthing on the self less 'occupied' and besieged people. Can you imagine uproar if the Arab neighbouring countires had beseiged Israel?

Hope the aid ships succeed. The Turkish people are also beginning to see Israel for what it is and public opinion appears to be questioning their relationship.

Thanks for not mincing your words. Lets hope more have the courage to speak out against the injustice against those besieged and suppressed.

Tazz thanks for your post

From our own support groups visits to both Gaza and the West Bank the 2 most striking attribues of the Palestinian people you meet are their dignity and total lack of hate.

It is astounding for people who have been treated as subhuman by a twisted regime which has kept them in the filth and squalor of refugee camps for decades to be so willing to still seek accomodation.

Their courage, dignity and decency is so humbling

Always two sides to a story Antrim Georgie. Have been to both "factions" many times and the situation is not as black and white as you would have us believe. I very much doubt that a solution will be found in my lifetime. Our Mr Balfour has a lot to answer for ! BTW- why are you always on your soap box ?

Here's an opinion of the situation of Gaza a year after.

Any of you Irishmen recognize your fellow counrtymen mentioned in the article? I have no idea who they are. Sorry.

I think this group is a UN sponsored one

There is throughout Ireland a great deal of sympathy with the Palestinian people and our own group is one of many helping these resilient and proud people
